poems of

remembering

by Jessie Phoenix Turner

Ready for Pre-order:

*available only for 10 days - till Dec 30th*

What is a pre-order? This means that before I send it to the printers you can order a copy - this helps me pay for the cost of printing, as well as gives me a ballpark of how many copies I should print. It also means you’ll be the first to get it! After this time the book will be available to order still once they are printed.

Light is dancing
on ten thousand spider webs
in the grass
ever widening hoops of golden thread
stretching across this small circle of ground
home

In the scarce but generous light of Autumn evening
a small winged insect dances
up and down
up and down

The fire smoulders
ash and wood at my feet
this circle of stone
holding flame
to which I’ve made offerings and thanks

Excerpt from ‘remembering’, a poem in the collection

  • "Jessie's beautiful words land softly, inviting quiet and kindness and belonging. An exhale."

    Nina Fleming

  • "[This poem] feels like a chime, catching an ordinary breath of wind and turning it into layers of song.

Points of attention. Moments of praise. It warms me through and through.”

    Meghan Rathwell

  • "Jessie’s poetry calls me into an intimate space of what truly matters, matters of the heart.

It’s an intimate and inspiring invitation to remember ourselves back to mystery, awe, wonder and our tender hearts. While her words feel personally touching they stretch me into something bigger than my individual experience. From one to a oneness. From me, to wholeness, to holy.”

    Sara Turner

  • “In a world that conspires loudly and mercilessly for you to forget who you really are–Jessie Turner’s poems are a call to remember.

Remember that you are alive, that you are human, and that you–and the planet you live on–matter. Keep these poems beside your bed or on your altar as a constant reminder to come home to yourself.”

Jessie can be found in the wilds

of the woods and the human heart,

chai in hand, stumbling in the place

between imagination and Great Mystery.

“writing poetry is a way for me to gather, into safekeeping, moments that have brought me into deep presence.

For me it is an act of listening, an extension of hearing the Mystery.

I hope these poems offer you some company ~ on the days that feel hard as well as the ones that feel beautiful.”
